Job Overview:

The Executive Director of NGO-ISAC, the de facto chief executive, will be responsible for leading and managing the organization's operations, strategic planning, and development initiatives. This role involves ensuring that NGO-ISAC effectively serves its members in the nonprofit sector by providing critical information sharing and analysis services related to cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, capacity building, policy implementation, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

​

  • Leadership and Vision:

    • Lead the development and execution of long-term strategies with the goal of promoting NGO-ISAC's mission and objectives.

    • Build, inspire and lead a high-performing team; nurture a positive, innovative, and collaborative organizational culture.

  • Fundraising:

    • Support and engage with existing funders and donors in their objectives

    • Effectively build relationships to potential funders and grant sources

    • Execute campaigns for building fundraising potential

    • Work with the board, existing funders, and others to continue to raise funds to support the operational needs of the organization 

  • Operational Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.

    • Manage financial and human resources, including budgeting, financial management, and staff recruitment and development.

  • Communications:

    • Communicate effectively and professionally both internally and externally

    • Manage crisis communication situations effectively and in a calm manner

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Foster strong relationships with member organizations, partners, government entities, and other stakeholders.

    • Represent NGO-ISAC at conferences, workshops, and public forums, enhancing the organization's visibility and reputation.

  • Information Sharing and Analysis:

    • Ensure the delivery of timely and relevant cybersecurity information and analysis to members.

    • Oversee the development and implementation of tools and resources to support member organizations in managing cybersecurity and adjacent risks.

  • Policy and Advocacy:

    • Engage in policy development and advocacy efforts related to cybersecurity in the non-profit sector.

    • Collaborate with policymakers, industry leaders, and other ISACs to promote best practices and standards.

Qualifications:

​

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Information Technology); Master’s degree and/or J.D. preferred.

  • Minimum of ten years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, cybersecurity, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organizational management, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity issues and trends, particularly as they impact the non-profit sector.

  • Excellent communication, public speaking and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of fundamentals of cyber risk management and technical mitigation controls. 

  • Proven expertise with building and maturing cybersecurity programs and teams

  • Familiarity with threat intelligence and cyber threat actors is a plus.

  • Government relationships, understanding of government organizations is a plus.

While the exact travel requirements are going to be reflective of organization initiatives, fundraising needs, events, and other needs of NGO-ISAC, it should be assumed that anyone in this position is able to travel at least monthly.
